What are the minimum requirement for particpating in the program?
1. Maintain enrollment as a full time student in active pursuit of degree completion 2. Submit official transcripts after every semester. 3. Sustain a 3.0 overall GPA annually. 4. Scholars are also required to attend two virtual meetings a year with other scholar recipients and members of the OMOOGUN Board. 5. Participate in approved internship, community service or research experiences during the summer. 6. Provide reflections & testimonials of college and service experiences. 7. Return to high school to discuss the value of education and goals after university completion .
Is the Scholarship limited to certian fields of study?
Yes. Students must apply for consideration for one of our three scholar programs. Each program has academic areas of interest. Students may only be eligible for one scholarship at a time.
Is the scholarship limited to schools in Nigeria or can I use this for schools outside the country?
Enrollment confirmation at a university or polytechnic school in Nigeria is required and at this time, the scholarship is not for study outside of Nigeria.
My school does not use the GPA system, is there a way to convert my scores?
An official transcript is required and if your school does not use a GPA system there must also be an accompanying high school profile to understand the grading system.
A family member was a past recipient of this scholarship; would I still be eligible to apply?
Yes. All applications are considered on an individual basis.
Would the scholarship be revoked due to unforeseeable reasons beyond my control (i.e. teacher /transit worker strikes).
Disruptions in degree completion or college participation will be evaluated on an individual basis. If scholars are forced to delay study they must communicate to the OOMOGUN Board immediately.
